Spotted Gum
Spotted Gum is a dense, durable Australian hardwood that’s well-regarded for both its strength and natural beauty. It features a unique blend of colour variations—from pale greys to deep browns—along with a wavy grain that adds visual interest to finished surfaces.
This species is highly valued for structural applications, external decking, flooring, and cladding thanks to its natural resistance to termites, fire, and decay. Spotted Gum also machines and finishes well, making it suitable for both heavy construction and high-end joinery where aesthetics and durability matter.

Heavy-Duty Iron Bark
Ironbark is one of the hardest and most durable native hardwoods available in Australia. Recognised for its deep red to dark brown tones and high density, it’s a top choice for heavy-duty structural work, railway sleepers, and long-span beams.
Its exceptional strength and weather resistance make it well-suited for exposed applications, including bridges and outdoor support structures. Ironbark can be challenging to machine due to its density, but its long-term performance in harsh environments makes it a preferred option for serious construction projects.
Reliable Mackay Cedar
Mackay Cedar is a lightweight hardwood that combines beauty with ease of use. It’s known for its rich reddish hues, fine grain, and smooth workability—making it a favourite among furniture makers, joiners, and cabinetmakers.
Although not as hard as structural timbers, it performs well in internal applications where strength is less critical and appearance takes priority. Mackay Cedar is ideal for feature panelling, cabinetry, shelving, and decorative trim. It’s a great choice when you want a timber that adds warmth and character without being too heavy to handle.

Versatility with Bluegum
Bluegum is a reliable, medium-density hardwood known for its straight grain and warm, reddish-brown tones. It’s a popular choice for structural framing, flooring, furniture, and general joinery due to its balanced properties.
Bluegum offers a good mix of strength, workability, and visual appeal—making it suitable for a wide range of indoor and outdoor uses. It machines cleanly, takes finishes well, and provides solid performance without the extreme hardness of some denser species. Its versatility makes it a dependable option for both trades and custom builds.
